The Venezuelan government has condemned the new phase of genocidal attacks perpetrated by the Israeli settler entity against several towns in the Gaza Strip, Palestine, which have already resulted in hundreds of deaths and thousands of injuries, along with the destruction of homes, mosques, schools, and shelters for displaced persons.
“Venezuela denounces this ruthless aggression—condemned by the United Nations and the entire world—which reignites the war in Gaza after a ceasefire that lasted more than two months,” reads a statement released on social media this Wednesday, March 19, by Venezuela’s foreign minister, Yván Gil. “This further deteriorates the existing humanitarian crisis and brutal siege against the Palestinian people, exposing the prolonged war crimes committed [by the Israeli settler colony] in the Gaza Strip and occupied West Bank since October 7, 2023. These barbaric acts occur with the complicity and cover-up of the US and its international allies.”
In Khan Younis, Deir al-Balah, and Rafah, fires broke have broken out in refugee tents west of Khan Younis, leaving many civilians trapped under rubble.
The Venezuelan state warned that the Israeli entity’s “systematic and perverse violation of principles enshrined in international humanitarian law, alongside its disregard for global conventions, demonstrates frantic efforts to exterminate the Palestinian people and provoke a dangerous escalation of violence in the Middle East, with unimaginable global consequences.”
It also stressed the urgent need to unite efforts toward peace, respect for life, solidarity, justice, and accountability for those responsible for these horrific genocidal massacres.
“The Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela reaffirms its commitment to solidarity with the sister Palestinian people and reiterates its absolute condemnation of the violent acts that murder thousands of innocents in this region daily,” the statement concludes.

Below, you can read the unofficial translation of the government’s statement:
The Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela expresses its strongest condemnation of the new phase of the criminal attacks perpetrated by the Zionist State of Israel against several towns in the Gaza Strip, which have resulted in the deaths of hundreds of people and injuries to thousands. It also condemns the continued destruction of homes, mosques, schools, and shelters for displaced persons, especially in Khan Younis, Deir al-Balah, and Rafah. It also set fire to refugee tents west of Khan Younis, leaving many civilians trapped under the rubble.
Venezuela denounces that this ruthless aggression, condemned by the United Nations and the entire world, which resumes the war in Gaza after a ceasefire that had lasted more than two months, continues to deteriorate the already existing humanitarian situation and the brutal siege against the Palestinian people and reveals, once again, the prolongation of the war crimes perpetrated in the Gaza Strip and the occupied West Bank since October 7, 2023. These despicable barbaric acts occur with the complicity and cover-up of the United States and its international allies.
We warn that, in the face of the systematic and perverse violation of the principles enshrined in international humanitarian law and the disregard for the provisions of all international laws and conventions, the murderous power of Israel is showing frantic signs of exterminating the Palestinian people and unleashing a dangerous escalation of violence in the Middle East, with unimaginable global consequences.
We believe that, without further delay, it is imperative to unite our efforts, focused on the pursuit of peace, respect for life, solidarity, justice, and punishment for those responsible for these horrific genocidal massacres. The world, with one voice, must demand an end to this new phase of terrorist violence, a definitive ceasefire, and the commitment of those on the ground to a cessation of hostilities, the protection of human rights, and fundamental guarantees for the protection of life.
The Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela reaffirms its commitment to solidarity with the sister Palestinian people and reiterates its absolute condemnation of the violent acts that murder thousands of innocent people in this region every day.
