Venezuela recognizes the heroism of the men and women of the Russian people who gave their lives to save humanity from Nazi-fascism, said the Minister of Popular Power for Foreign Relations, Jorge Arreaza, on this occasion to commemorate the 75th anniversary of the victory of the then Soviet Union and the allies over Nazi Germany.
Regarding this celebration, the head of peace diplomacy published, on his Twitter account @jaarreaza, an official communique from President Nicolás Maduro Moros, who on behalf of the government and people of the Bolivarian republic of Venezuela, congratulates the government and people of the Russian federation on the occasion of the 75th anniversary of Victory Day in the Great Patriotic War, a date on which the Red Army of the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics definitively defeated the fascist forces, thus materializing the heroic deed of the Soviet peoples and their allies against the barbarism of Nazi-fascism.
The communique adds that Venezuela, like Russia, vows to maintain and reinforce multilateralism and collective decisions, as fundamental elements in the construction of a free and fair global society.

Venezuela congratulates the Russian Federation on 75 years of Victory Day in the Great Patriotic War
President Nicolás Maduro Moros, on behalf of the government and people of the Bolivarian republic of Venezuela, extends heartfelt congratulations to the government and people of the Russian Federation on the occasion of the 75th anniversary of Victory Day in the Great Patriotic War, the date on which the Red Army of the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics definitely defeated the fascist forces, thus, materializing the heroic deed of the Soviet peoples and their allies against the barbarity of Nazi-fascism.
On this great day, Venezuela thanks and recognizes once again the heroic men and women, who with their unbending will gave their lives to put an end to the horrors of fascism and to offer an opportunity to humanity and peace.
The legacy of the warriors of the Great Patriotic War leads today to a profound reflection on the processes the world is experiencing and the challenges the peoples must face in order to consolidate the multipolar, multicentered, just and egalitarian international system. In this sense, Venezuela, like Russia, hopes to maintain and strengthen multilateralism and collective decisions, as fundamental elements in the construction of a free and just global society.
The Bolivarian republic of Venezuela recuperates the heroism of the Russian people and other then-Soviet peoples and enhances the spirit of peace that emerged after the victory over Nazism, by expressing its commitment to fight and work together with the Russian people and government, facing the difficulties that may arise, always convinced of being victorious in the name of justice and equality.
