Venezuela’s Constituent Assembly Decorates Defenders of Sovereignty (Battle of the Bridges)

February 25, 2020

Caracas, Feb. 24 (Prensa Latina) Venezuela’s National Constituent Assembly (ANC) decorated on Monday civilians and military personnel who were prominent in defending national sovereignty during the violent events of February 23, 2019 on the Colombian border.

In complicity with the authorities of Washington and Bogota, shock groups associated with the opposition leader Juan Guaido carried out destabilizing actions on the binational border, as part of an alleged humanitarian aid operation.

In a solemn session of the plenipotentiary body, Cabello reiterated the call for the unity of the revolutionary forces as the only guarantee of continuity of the Bolivarian process against the US governmental threats and its opposition allies.

Meanwhile, the political protector of Tachira state Freddy Bernal assured that Venezuela will never be tainted, paying homage to the anonymous heroes who faced violent opposition groups in the known Battle of the Bridges.

Likewise, Bernal delivered the replica of the sword of Liberator Simon Bolivar to Diosdado Cabello, for his commitment and participation in the defense of the nation during the events of February 23, 2019.

Earlier, Venezuela’s President Nicolas Maduro recalled the popular victory over the attempt to enter a supposed humanitarian aid, a fact described by Caracas as a screen to cover up an intervention in Venezuelan territory.
