The attorney general of Venezuela, Tarek William Saab, reported that his office is conducting an investigation against the platform “Ya Casi Venezuela” that is generating a coup plot to destabilize the government of President Nicolás Maduro.
At a press conference on Tuesday, September 24, Attorney General Saab provided details of the investigation regarding the Ya Casi Venezuela portal that has so far raised $1,237,197.46 out of an announced goal of $10 million.
“There is a pantomime that we are taking seriously, we are investigating it. It is a new group of US mercenaries with the support of cowardly individuals, fugitives who live in the United States,” said Saab.

He added that his office has already identified some of those responsible, and that there are some representatives of the Venezuelan far right who “are committing crimes in the United States and in the world, that must be said.”
The attorney general also issued a warning that those who support mercenary initiatives such as Ya casi Venezuela, designed to disrupt the peace of the country, “will have to pay for these crimes … We already have the list, it is an ongoing investigation; they will have to pay for these crimes that are totally gruesome and unprecedented.”
The “Ya casi Venezuela” campaign is supported by the head of the mercenary organization Blackwater, Erik Prince, who made it clear in several videos published on social media that the platform’s aim is to obtain a significant amount in dollars in order to launch a coup against Venezuela.
