On Wednesday, September 11, during the closing ceremony of the Congress against Fascism, Neo-Fascism, and Similar Expressions, President Maduro announced the creation of the Anti-Fascist, Anti-Colonial, and Anti-Imperialist International and approved the 13th edition of the Liberator Award for Critical Thought.
For the Liberator Award for Critical Thought, he invited writers and intellectuals to submit their works on the phenomena of fascism, neo-fascism, and the battle of social media between now and December.
“If we can combat the new phenomena that are appearing as a current of global regrouping of the fascist project with viable alternatives and alternative models to neoliberalism, this International’s mission will be accomplished,” he said during the ceremony.
He also recalled that Venezuela was hit with a wave of fascist violence head-on from July 29 to 31, following the presidential elections.
In this regard, he highlighted that Venezuelans have shown that they were prepared for that test, because in 48 hours, peace and harmony were restored.

Moreover, President Maduro urged the General Secretariat of the United Nations to respect the victims of fascism in Venezuela.
He decried that the spokesperson of UN Secretary General AntĂłnio Guterres has tried to defend those who committed violence and murder in Venezuela in the post-electoral period.
He also criticized that no one from the United Nations has done anything to defend the people who had been attacked and their families and make visible their pain.
“Every time the UN spokesperson makes a statement, what he does is repeat the State Department’s story, but nobody comes in defense of the victims of fascism in Venezuela, the relatives of those who were murdered or those who were attacked when they were returning home from work,” President Maduro criti.
He specified that violent gangs murdered 27 people, among them two sergeants of the Bolivarian National Guard who were captured and beaten before being shot dead.
