On the afternoon of Tuesday, May 12, a new shipment of humanitarian aid arrived in the country to combat COVID-19 in Venezuela, which was received by the Bolivarian government at the SimĂłn BolĂvar International Airport in MaiquetĂa.

The Minister for Health, Carlos Alvarado, the Minister for Foreign Relations, Jorge Arreaza, and the Chinese ambassador to Venezuela, Li Baorong, were in charge of receiving the shipment which contained 47 tons of medical supplies.
“We are receiving medical supplies that will strengthen our diagnostic capacity and our power to protect ourselves in the face of this terrible pandemic that plagues humanity. The equipment is arriving and will allow us to conduct 80 thousand new PCR tests with all their components (âŚ) Almost 4 million masks, gloves and everything that is required for diagnosis and protective equipment,âAlvarado said in news coverage broadcasted by Venezolana de Television (VTV).
