The President of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, emphasized this Wednesday that the development of the vaccine and treatments against the covid-19 coronavirus should be the priority for the member countries of the Bolivarian Alliance for the Peoples of Our America (Alba-TCP) .
“Alba must take the issue of vaccination and coronavirus treatments as a priority. Assume it as a priority, and work in alliance for the vaccine, with the World Health Organization, with China, Russia, and the universities that are working on it, so that from Alba-TCP we can distribute millions of vaccines to all peoples. Have a guarantee of vaccines,” said the head of state.

“Immediate implementation is vital and so that the Alba-TCP coronavirus vaccine reaches the people, we must take treatment and vaccination as a priority.”
He explained that the Bolivarian Alliance for the Peoples of Our Latin America should coordinate as soon as possible with the “World Health Organization, with China, Russia and the universities that are producing it with the covid-19 vaccine, to guarantee immediate access and from Alba-TCP the distribution to millions of the world’s people.”

He mentioned that this proposal stems from the unitary vision that the Alliance has in guaranteeing the vaccine, treatments and test tests, among others. “The Alliance is the only one that has guaranteed the treatments and, through Cuba, the doctors that help the countries in solidarity.”
He criticized the Organization of American States (OAS) for remaining inert, in the face of the global pandemic of covid-19.
“The OAS has been conspicuous by its absence, they have demonstrated how incapable and inhuman they can be, given this, we have united and with outstretched arms, we are taking care of our peoples,” he said during a virtual high-level conference of Alba-TPC head of states.
