“Unlimited Boldness”: Duque Asks International Justice to Sanction Maduro (Chancellor Arreaza)
In response to IvĂĄn Duque’s request for international justice to sanction President NicolĂĄs Maduro (via the TIAR), the Venezuelan Foreign Minister Jorge Arreaza pointed out that “his impudence is already an anthology,” because during his government, Colombia faces serious problems related to human rights violations.
With a tweet, the top Venezuelan diplomat referred to Colombia’s Duque as “sub-president,” as he is called by many Colombians due to his subordination to Alvaro Uribe, and made an inventory of the crimes that were committed in Colombia under the protection of the leader –destruction of the peace agreements, almost daily assassinations of social leaders, savage repression against the people, and secure drug production for the United States — while predicting that “he will end up worse than his boss Ălvaro Uribe VĂ©lez.”

The former Colombian president and former senator is in detention for falsification and manipulation of witnesses and has an open investigation for his participation in the El Aro massacre, which occurred in 1997, when he was governor of the department of Antioquia.
Earlier, Colombian media reported that Duque had asked international justice to impose sanctions against President NicolĂĄs Maduro, after the release of a fraudulent and biased report by a “Human Rights Observation Mission”, whose work Venezuela has rejected since last December.
“The international community should also press for the opening of an investigation and a path of sanctions before international justice for the dictator who batters the Venezuelan people,” said Duque during an event with the Military Forces in Nariño.
