The activist had been involved with the Faz’a campaign, an organization that aims to support and protect Palestinian farmers from violations by illegal Jewish settlers and military forces.
A 26-year-old international activist died on Friday from critical head injuries after being shot by Israeli occupation forces in Beita, south of Nablus, in the occupied West Bank.
The activist, identified as Aysenur Ezgi Eygi, an American of Turkish descent, was shot in the head with live ammunition while participating in the weekly protest against settlement expansion, the Palestine Chronicle correspondent from the West Bank reported.
Medical sources confirmed that she was immediately transported to Rafidia Hospital in Nablus, where she was admitted to the intensive care unit. Despite extensive efforts by medical staff, she succumbed to her severe injuries.
According to local sources, the confrontation began when Israeli forces violently dispersed the protest, using live ammunition, stun grenades, and tear gas against demonstrators.
In the same incident, an 18-year-old Palestinian was also injured by shrapnel in the thigh.
The activist had been involved with the Faz’a campaign, an organization that aims to support and protect Palestinian farmers from violations by illegal Jewish settlers and military forces.
Large-Scale Military Operation
The large-scale military operation in the northern West Bank began on August 28. Since then, Palestinian fighters have been actively resisting with explosive devices and gunfire, resulting in casualties among Israeli soldiers.
The United Nations Refugee and Works Agency (UNRWA) announced on Thursday that the past week has been the “deadliest” for Palestinians in the West Bank since November of last year.
The Israeli occupation forces have killed at least 39 Palestinians, including 21 from Jenin, 8 from Tulkarm, 7 from Tubas, and 3 from Hebron, since the start of its large-scale offensive in the West Bank on August 28, which brings the death toll in the West Bank since October 7 of last year to 699, according to the official Palestinian news agency WAFA.
In addition to the casualties, significant damage has been inflicted on the infrastructure of cities like Jenin, Tulkarm, Nablus, and Tubas.
This operation has led to confrontations between the Israeli military and Palestinian fighters, who have used explosive devices and gunfire to resist the incursions.
Palestinian Resistance Factions have issued the following statements on the killing of Aysenur Ezgi Eygi:
Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine:
The martyrdom of Turkish-American activist Aisha Ezgi is a continuation of a long series of occupation targeting all free voices.
– The martyrdom of the Turkish-American activist, Aisha Noor Ezgi, after being shot in the head by occupation forces near Mount Sbeih in the town of Beita, south of occupied Nablus, is yet another Zionist crime added to the occupation’s black record of targeting foreign activists in solidarity with our people.
– This crime brings to mind a long series of crimes committed by the occupation against international solidarity activists, from the assassination of American activist Rachel Corrie and British activist Tom Hurndall in Rafah, to the attack on the “Mavi Marmara” ship breaking the siege, which led to the martyrdom of ten activists, among other continuous attacks and practices against those in solidarity.
– The occupation continues to target anyone who stands for justice and defends our people, further proving that this entity poses a threat to all of humanity and every free voice striving for justice, not just to the Palestinian people.
– The Front calls on all the free people of the world to unite efforts to confront this Zionist, U.S.- and Western-backed usurper entity, and to work on documenting these crimes as war crimes against humanity, contributing to enhancing international efforts to isolate this rogue and rejected entity, and to prosecute its leaders as war criminals before international courts.

Hamas:
In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
The Islamic Resistance Movement – Hamas condemns in the strongest terms the crime committed by the zionist occupation army in targeting the American solidarity activist Aysenur Ezgi Eygi with a direct bullet to the head, which led to her martyrdom, while she was participating in the weekly peaceful march against settlements on Jabal Sbeih in the town of Beita, south of Nablus.
We consider this heinous crime an extension of the occupation’s deliberate crimes against foreign solidarity activists with our Palestinian people, which have claimed the lives of dozens of them, perhaps the most prominent of whom is the solidarity activist Rachel Corrie, who was crushed under the tracks of the occupation’s tanks in 2003. These crimes continue in the West Bank with systematic and continuous attacks on solidarity activists by the occupation army and its settler gangs, as happens in all peaceful solidarity events and marches in the villages and towns of the West Bank threatened by settlement and Judaization projects.
The zionist extremist government and its terrorist army seek, through these crimes, to terrorize and suppress every voice calling for the freedom of our Palestinian people, or standing in solidarity with them in light of criminal settlement and Judaization projects, and an ongoing comprehensive genocide war waged against them, without the official world moving a finger to stop it.
We call on the international community, the United Nations, and all its political, humanitarian, human rights, and judicial institutions, to act immediately to rein in the occupation government, and hold it accountable for its fascist behavior that denies all international laws. We also call on the US administration to review its biased policy and support for the crimes and massacres of the occupation against our Palestinian people, which today led to the killing of an American citizen by the bullets of its criminal army.

Palestinian Islamic Jihad:
In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
The act of enemy soldiers opening fire and killing the American activist Aysenur Ezgi Eygi is a new war crime that adds to the series of crimes committed by the entity in front of the entire world.
The silence of the American administration on the crimes of the occupation makes it a full partner with it. The discrimination by the American administration between its citizens who hold its nationality, on a political basis, is a contempt for all the values it claims to uphold. There is no difference between those killed by the hands of occupation soldiers, whether in captivity or participating in solidarity with our people. The assassination of journalist Shireen Abu Akleh is not far off from this reality.
