In Images and Video: How Caracas Followed Social Quarantine (Covid-19)

Orinoco Tribune – News and opinion pieces about Venezuela and beyond
From Venezuela and made by Venezuelan Chavistas

This Monday, after President Nicolás Maduro announced that Caracas, along with six other entities, would have to quarantine in order to stop the advance of the coronavirus pandemic in the country, the streets of the capital were less crowded than usual.
Likewise, most of those who were outside made use of face masks. It was also appreciated that many shops were closed following the presidential instructions.
The measure enacted by the Executive involves restricting non-essential work activities, including trade – except for food and medicine – and invites citizens to stay within their homes as long as possible to activate social distancing, the method most effective in reducing the rate of covid-19 infections, as shown by simulations and studies published to date.
